San Juan BOCES Director of Gifted Education Nisia Patalan was interviewed for Chalkbeat where she brings attention to the positive improvements focused on closing gaps for gifted identification in our BOCES member districts.

Are you working toward an educator credential in an educator shortage area? Are you currently employed in a Colorado public school as a paraprofessional, alternative licensed teacher, or special services provider under a TEE authorization? CDE has a financial assistance program that can support you with up to $10,000 in one-time financial assistance. Recipients must commit to work in a “shortage area” for three years. The current application window will be open through September. The Colorado Center for Rural Education is currently accepting applications for Colorado Rural Student Teacher stipends ($4,000) and National Board-Certified Teacher stipends ($4,250).
